About me

I class myself as a citizen writer. I use skills developed in my work life as a learning and development professional and from a formative period spent in academia. There's always an element of education in what I write. I fundamentally believe that informed people are less easy to manipulate or exploit.

I enjoy the creative challenge of crafting a message and writing helps me clarify what I think. While it's a hobby it's also been great skill to hone and one that has enhanced my professional work.

Over the years I've frequently submitted replies to articles on other platforms and publications. It's rewarding when other readers appreciate the contribution. Very often my comments were either the top comment or within the top 10 - 20 out of hundreds of replies. Some posts on this site are republished on other platforms. With so much going on in the world, the need to make sense and communicate is strong. This is my publication, which I share with anyone who wants to read it. What I write is informed through what I'm reading, watching, the conversations I have with others and from following influencers with perspectives I value.
